Captain Onion’s Buoyant Academy for Wayward Youth is officially on deck. Wild Child Animation is co-producing the new 2D animated series alongside ALT Animation and Studio Meala, with support from the UK Global Screen Fund.

Spanning 50 x 11-minute episodes, the show follows a crew of 7–12-year-olds navigating life, friendship and mischief aboard a converted pirate-ship boarding school. Co-directed by Matthew Bradley and Lee McQuade, the project was co-developed via the BBC Ignite programme with BBC Children’s & Education.
