Kenneth Grahame’s literary classic ‘Wind in the Willows’ springs to life in this new series following the further adventures of the much-loved characters: Mole, Rat, and, of course, the incorrigible Toad. Blending timeless values like adventure, teamwork, and kindness with modern pacing and humor, Toad & Friends updates a classic for today’s audiences while remaining true to the heart and charm of the original.
Wild Child Animation partnered closely with Hoho Entertainment to reimagine Toad & Friends with a fresh visual identity while respecting the spirit of Grahame’s original work. Initially conceived in 2D, the series evolved into a 3D animated production featuring an illustrative style that captures the warmth of the classic story.
Wild Child Animation’s in-house team managed the entire pipeline—from design and scripting to animation. Animated in Maya and rendered using Unreal Engine, the production pushed technological boundaries as one of the first TV series to fully utilise Unreal Engine for broadcast-quality animation.
